FORTEZZA MEDICEA

It was projected by Gabrio Serbelloni and built during the second half of the 16th century for Cosimo I de' Medici.

PALAZZO COMUNALE

The Town Hall, which was built in the 13th century, overlooks Piazza della Repubblica. The tower, the f1ight of steps and part of the left side of the building were added in the 15th and 16th century.

Built during the second half of the 13th century, this palace was a symbol of popular power. In the 16th century the building was donated to Cardinal Silvio Passerini, who enlarged it in Renaissance style.
